Anderson Packaging Announces New Consumer Products Facility

ROCKFORD, IL - Construction tools are now silent and high-speed packaging machines are in full swing as Anderson Packaging, Inc., moves office personnel into its newest plant. The new facility brings the number of manufacturing sites in the Consumer Products Division to four, with a total capacity of approximately 260,000 square feet. This facility is the divisional headquarters for the Rockford-based contract packaging firm's Consumer Products Division. It is an FDA-registered facility that incorporates current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs).
Anderson's Consumer Products Division operates three other separate facilities that specialize in personal care, beauty care and household products packaging.
"Adding this newest plant will enable us to continue to grow our business along our core strengths of thermoforming, filling and sealing, and flexible pouch filling of consumer products," explained Tom Baca, division president. "These separate facilities ensure both segregation of incompatible products and security for proprietary customer processes. Some sophisticated packaging equipment already has been installed, with production that began in June. The company is installing additional equipment and building special packaging rooms."
Administrative, sales and customer service staff moved into the new plant in early December. Baca said the new plant will house personnel and state-of-the-art packaging lines for primary and secondary packaging servicing the personal care and beauty care markets. In addition, it will offer capabilities for product blending and analytical testing.
Baca stated Anderson chose the new site because it met the company's strategic requirements.
"There is commonality of management organization, so we obviously wanted to remain in the greater Rockford area," he said. "What drove the decision to acquire this particular property is the building sits on 17.5 acres of land. We can expand the building almost fivefold to accommodate future growth."
