PHARMADIAL CHILD-RESISTANT PACKAGE RECEIVES F=1 CHILD RESISTANCE RATING.
11/17/
2003
Anderson Packaging and Colbert Packaging have
announced that child safety tests have been completed and
the PharmaDial package has achieved an
F=1 rating. The package was recently subject to the Consumer Product
Safety Commission’s child resistance protocol testing and came
away with the highest safety rating achievable.
The PharmaDial package, invented by Colbert Packaging
and co-marketed with Anderson Packaging, features an innovative approach
to child resistance
and patient compliance. The novel design calls for the user to perform
a simple three-step process to access their medication. The user peels
a tab, turns the dial 90 degrees, and pushes the tablet through the back
of the package. While providing a barrier to entry for children, the
package maintains a senior friendly approach for dispensing medications
by combining large easy to grip features with simple and intuitive steps.
To provide additional security for children, the PharmaDial package utilizes
BlisterGuard paperboard, Colbert Packaging’s proprietary tear resistant
paperboard featuring Valeron film.
According to Shawn Reilley, Vice President of Sales and
Marketing, “Anderson
Packaging has long been an industry leader for innovative package designs
and the PharmaDial is a great example. This package takes a brand new
approach to delivering child resistance and patient compliance, while
still providing a package that is easily accessible for the elderly.”
The PharmaDial
package is currently commercially available and can be custom designed
for specific applications. For additional
information
