American Health Packaging, a wholly owned subsidiary of the AmerisourceBergen Corporation, was awarded the Healthcare Compliance Packaging Council’s 2005 Compliance Package of the Year in Philadelphia on May 11th for its Taro Pharmaceuticals Warfarin TrackPack Compliance Package. This prestigious honor marks the second straight Compliance Package of the Year award for the AmerisourceBergen Packaging Group. AmerisourceBergen subsidiary Anderson Packaging was awarded the 2004 Compliance Package of the Year for the Procter & Gamble Pharmaceuticals Actonel Once-a-Week Dosepak® and the 2004 Second runner-up award for the TAP Pharmaceuticals NapraPAC™. The Actonel Once-a-Week Dosepak® was also awarded the Institute of Packaging Professionals’ 2003 AmeriStar Award and the TAP NapraPAC™ was the 2004 recipient.

This year’s award winning Taro 30 count Warfarin compliance package features a circular design allowing the user to start the dosing regiment on a particular day of the week and easily follow through to completion. Compliance prompting graphics remind the user to refill their prescription at the refill point. An innovative opening feature allows the package to comply with the Consumer Product Safety Commission’s Child Resistance testing protocol, while at the same time clearly conveying opening instructions to achieve Senior Friendly status.
